Why on-device PDF tools are different
Most online PDF tools upload your file to a server, process it there and send it back. That is slow on mobile data, it limits file sizes, and it means a copy of your document sits on someone else’s computer, at least for a while. Popular services also cap free use at a few tasks per day.
SmallKits works the other way round. The PDF engines are downloaded to your browser once, and from then on your files are read, changed and saved on your own device. There is no upload, no daily limit and no file-size cap beyond what your device can handle.
What each tool does
- Images to PDF turns photos and scans into one PDF, in the order you choose.
- Merge PDF combines several PDFs and images into one file.
- Split PDF extracts pages, or splits a PDF into several files.
- Compress PDF makes a file small enough for email or upload forms, and tells you honestly how much it saved.
- Fill and sign PDF adds your signature, initials, the date, text and ticks, and fills in form fields.
Works offline
After your first visit, the PDF tools keep working without an internet connection, which is handy on a plane, in a site office or anywhere the signal drops.
